Plan your visit
BEFORE ARRIVAL

BEFORE ARRIVAL

Be sure to book your tickets online, because we can get very busy. Make sure you’re dressed in comfortable, loose-fitting clothing but wear something warm – it can get very chilly in the wind tunnel! To speed things up you should read your waiver form before you arrive, and sign it at our desk counter, which will shorten the time you have to spend queuing.

Make sure to arrive 1 hour before your booking time.
AT ARRIVAL

AT ARRIVAL

You should aim to arrive an hour before your scheduled flight because it can take a while to get into the flying gear you’ll need to wear. Hand over your waiver form and sign when you get here, and we’ll see you’re all kitted out and ready to fly. Before you take to the tunnel, you will be given a training session to teach you the hand signals we use when flying.
FLIGHT TIME

FLIGHT TIME

Enjoy a one-to-one or group coaching session in the wind tunnel, as you take to the skies four metres above the ground for a controlled descent. Always listen to the instructions from your tutor to get the most from your experience and stay safe.
AFTER YOU FLY

AFTER YOU FLY

After your flight, you’ll have time to take off your flying gear and return it to the team. We also have a souvenir shop where you can pick up iFLY t-shirts and helmets to commemorate your flight. There’s even a chance to get photo prints or a video of the experience, so you can relive the memory! You might even decide to book another session with us then and there.

FAQ's

Check out our answers to our guests’ common questions that should help you choose the right experience for your visit.

Q:Who can fly?
A: We welcome flyers of all ages and abilities! As long as you’re reasonably fit and healthy you can prepare for take-off, although we do ask you check the list of criteria below before you book. Helping you achieve the dream of flight is always our goal, so we’ll do everything we can to make that dream a reality!
Q:I have a disability, can I fly?
A: Having a disability doesn’t prevent you from flying, so just let staff know if you have additional needs or requirements. Indoor flying can, in fact, be a great way to challenge and push yourself to the limits, so it could become the perfect pastime for you!
Q:Do I have to do the training session?
A: We ask all first-time flyers to undertake the initial training session, as it sets you up with the basic skills you’ll need. There’s lots of useful pre-flight information included which will help improve your flying posture and enable you to get the most from your experience with us. If you’ve completed at least one flight within the past three months then you don’t need to do the training session again and can simply book as a Return Flyer.
Q:What should I wear?
A: iFLY Dubai has set a number of new boundaries in the vertical wind tunnel industry. We are the world's first double vertical wind tunnel. We are the first tunnel to attach itself to a mall. Our unique design also includes being raised 3 meters in the air which will give you a bird's-eye-view over Magic Planet!.
Q:Is it safe?
A: Completely. Your safety is our number on priority, and our highly-trained and certified instructors will see you have a safe and enjoyable experience. The instructor will be with you the entire time you are in the wind tunnel, however experienced you might be.
Q:Is it scary?
A: That depends how easily scared you are! Generally, we would say it isn’t a scary experience and you don’t need to have any great expertise to enjoy your flight. You’ll simply feel like you’re floating rather than falling, and there’s very little chance you’ll feel any motion sickness.
Q:Is it hard to breathe?
A: Not at all! It’s about the same as if you were to poke your head out the window of a moving car – just breathe normally and all you’ll feel is the wind on your face.
Q:Can I take a camera on my flight?
A: Unfortunately, we can’t allow flyers to take cameras in with them for security reasons, including GoPro cameras with suitable attachments. The good news is we take our own high-quality photos and videos, so you can still get the chance to share your flight with friends and family.
Q:How long does a flight last?
A: Each flight in the wind tunnel lasts for one minute, but the total flight time will depend on the package you’ve chosen. Think sixty seconds sounds quite short? When you leap from a plane the total free-fall time lasts just forty-five seconds, so you get more time airborne with us! A package with two instructor-led flights gives you two turns in the wind tunnel, but some of our packages include double-length flights at a reduced rate. A First-Time Flyer experience lasts around an hour and a half in total.
Q:Who can fly the VRExperience?
A: We ask that you have at least two flights with us before you try out the VRExperience.
Q:What can I expect during the VRExperience?
A: The VRExperience gives you the sensation of real freefall or a wing-suited base jump over your preferred location. You’ll get some pre-flight training and enjoy a standard flight before you take to the skies with the VRExperience, immersing yourself in the virtual reality of flight! An instructor will be with you throughout the whole thing, but we warn flyers that there can be a risk of motion sickness.
Q:Do I have to re-do the training if I’ve flown before?
A: If you’ve flown with us at least once within the past six months, then you won’t need to retake the training session. However, if you’d like a refresher then we’re more than happy for you to do the training again!
Q:Can I fly with my own jumpsuit and helmet?
A: Yes, as long as they’re in good order. All we ask is that there’s no camera attached to your helmet.
Q:Can two people fly in the tunnel?
A: Two people can fly together, as long as the instructor is happy that both have adequate flying skills.
Q:Do I need to pay for an instructor?
A: No – all our coaches are here to teach you and keep you safe, so there’s no additional coaching fee.

Q:Does indoor skydiving help with my skydiving training?
A: iIndoor skydiving gives you the same experience and sensation as outdoor skydiving, so it does help train your body and improve you diving position. It also helps you to learn about initiating and stopping turns and how to read an altimeter, all things you’ll need for an outdoor dive. Learning to dive in a controlled environment means you’ll feel less fear when you experience real freefall. Unfortunately, space in the wind tunnel is limited and you won’t be able to practice somersaults or other manoeuvres, so a flight with us probably can’t help towards your AFF-related training.
Q:Do I need to pay for an instructor?
A: No – all our coaches are here to teach you and keep you safe, so there’s no additional coaching fee.
Q:What’s the minimum amount of time I can book?
A: The minimum booking time is two minutes, but times can be booked in five-minute increments. That means you can book a 5, 10, 15, 30 or 60-minute session.
Q:Can I buy gift vouchers online?
A: For the time being, gift vouchers can only be purchased in-store.
Q:How long is my gift voucher valid for?
A: Gift vouchers are valid for six months after they are purchased.
Q:How can I redeem my gift voucher?
A: Just present your voucher at the iFLY front desk when you arrive.
Q:My voucher has expired – what can I do?
A: If your voucher is still within a year of purchase, it can be redeemed with an additional charge of AED 50. Unfortunately we cannot accept vouchers purchased more than a year ago.
